Creating Green Buildings

A property management company was constructing a new building – an environmentally “green” structure. They wanted a few dramatic accent plants and were very specific about requiring eco-friendly planters.
5-Wall-Street1Green Gutierrez-6-WestfordWe supplied large, square, tapered containers with a brown finish, chosen because of their construction. Made of more than 80% recycled material and coated with a low VOC compliant paint, the planters were attractive and resilient. Tropical plants were chosen to clean specific toxins from the air and with other flowering plants, provided a splash of color to achieve the overall effect the client wanted. Routine maintenance of the plants is environmentally responsible using certified organic fertilizer. In addition, natural, non-toxic products are used to clean both the plants and the decorative containers. These products also deter plant insects, since the use of synthetic pesticides is prohibited in this environmentally green building.
